Installation Overview
Two devices work together to give you complete visibility. Here's how they're installed.
Solo 5G Tracker
Primary device - Front wall installation
The Tive Solo 5G is about the size of an iPhone and provides location, temperature, light (door), and shock sensing. It's powered by a rechargeable NiMH battery (non-lithium).
Installation Location
Install on the front wall, roughly 3 feet off the deck, next to the reefer head where forklifts are unlikely to hit it.
A wire harness connects from the Solo 5G, secured across the front wall, down through one of the front drain holes, and up to the reefer battery. Special adhesive clips hold the wiring securely in place.
The harness includes a small module (about the size of a quarter) that converts 12V to 5V and monitors reefer battery voltage. This tops off the internal battery, which gives you around 30 days of backup power without external connection.
Tive Beacon
Secondary temperature sensor - Rear door installation
The Tive Beacon is a small battery-powered device that fits in the palm of your hand. It provides a second temperature reading at the rear of the trailer.
Installation
Simply peel the cover off the adhesive and stick it above the rear doors. It links up automatically to the Solo 5G via Bluetooth.
The Beacon has a 2-year battery. We monitor battery levels and automatically send you a replacement when it starts to run low—don't worry, we'll handle it.
After Installation
Once your kit is installed, register your trailer to activate visibility on your private portal.
